It's not possible for us to get together in person for a while, so why not try some online work with me?
Many of us are housebound at the moment. I'm staying home a lot more too and have developed five mini-workshops that you and I can do together, online: Writing great characters, Getting started with journaling, Overcoming that first roadblock, Creating a sense of place, and What's all this talk about structure? Scroll down to see the workshops and book in!
We'll meet up on Zoom, a secure and user friendly audio/video platform (or Facebook Messenger or Skype, you choose) and we can spend 40 minutes or so working through tips, tools, and ways of working on your selected topic(s) so you can do some writing or make a start on a project.
Here's what you'll get:
- each 40 minute session focuses on an aspect of storytelling - you'll get a 'boot-camp style' discussion and a writing exercise to complete
- sessions are conducted via Zoom, a secure and easy to use online platform where we can work via an audio/video link
- sessions can be booked at times that suit you
- payment can be made on my online Shop or by direct credit (for this option, please contact me to arrange)
So what's on offer?
Scroll down and see the workshops. Choose and pay for the ones you'd like to do or purchase all five workshops. When I receive your selection, I'll be in touch and we'll sort out days/times for our meetings. I'm looking forward to 'seeing' you.
Writing great characters $21What makes a great character?
How do you develop character and what is conflict? Characters are essential to good story so we need to make them attractive to our readers, whether they be good or bad! And sometimes we have to 'kill our darlings' for the sake of the story. |
What's all this talk about structure? $21You often hear about the importance of structure - but what does that mean? Should we know the structure before we begin, or does it evolve as we write? We'll look at classic story structure and how you can keep your reader turning those pages from welcome mat to denouement.
